Ploughshare Mixer consists of a cylindrical drum containing plough shaped mixing elements that are mounted on a horizontal shaft. It creates a mechanical fluidized bed mixing action.

The complete Mixing chamber becomes an Active Zone, whereby the entire product is constantly involved in the mixing process eliminating “dead zones” or low-movement zones inside the Mixer guaranteeing fast, precise unpredictable homogenous mixing.

Plough mixer is widely used to mix powder, granule, and small liquid additives in food, chemical, and construction line. It is particularly good at handling food additives, mortar, fertilizing, sludge, plastic, and special building material. The powerful shearing effect makes it high efficiency, and good mixing result.
In the first case the mixing shaft and the tools are horizontally installed, thus achieving, at corresponding movement, the product reaching from a loose product bed up to a mechanically generated fluidized bed. In the second case the mixing shaft is installed in vertical direction, whereby a so called vortex is built at corresponding movement. The installation of fast-rotating chopper heads enables the mixing of products tending to lump formation. Due to the mixing tools, the material to be mixed is hereby specifically fed to the activity area of the chopper head. Besides the conventional plough share mixing tools a large variety of modified mixing tools is available, facilitating an optimum adaptation of the mixing tools to the individual material.
